The 10/22 is one of the most customizable rimfire rifles on the market today. This is due to the fact that over 5 million of these rifles have been produced since 1964, and they're still in production 55 years later. The aftermarket market for the 10/22 is nearly as big as that of the AR-15. Below is a list of recommended upgrades for the Ruger 10/22.
This upgrade eliminates the clanky sound that is caused by the bolt hitting the steel retaining pins.
Recommended Part: Kidd Bolt Buffer
When a .22 round is fired, the brass casing expands which means that you need a strong and sharp extractor. This upgrade eliminates the possibility of a failure to eject (FTE) situation.
Recommended Part: Volquartsen Exact Edge Extractor
If you've shot your 10/22 often, you've probably noticed that the factory magazine release is not set-up for speed reloading. This upgrade extends the release lever so that you can change magazines more efficiently.
A lighter trigger pull will have a noticeable impact on your accuracy. The less weight that it takes to press the trigger, the less prone you are to jerking your firearm to the right and off target. The stock trigger in the 10/22 is 6lbs, whereas most after market triggers range from 1.5lbs to 3lbs.
Recommended Part: Ruger 10/22 BX Trigger
Recommended Part: Magpul Hunter X-22 or Hogue 22010
Whether you want weight reduction, increased accuracy, or both, there are plenty of aftermarket barrel options available.
Recommended Part: Tactical Solutions X-Ring Barrel
There are a few manufacturers that offer aftermarket 10/22 receivers. Brownell's now sells a number of them in various configurations.
Recommended Part: Brownell's 10/22 Receiver
If you'd like a custom built 10/22 from the ground up, we can do that. Some people prefer to build their rifle instead of upgrading an existing rifle, since in some cases it can be more cost effective. For the sake of context, we have seen customers who have purchased a brand new 10/22 and then swapped out every single part of the firearm. In this instance it would have been cheaper to simply build one to their liking.
