From the Mossberg 590 to the Remington 870, the pump action shotgun is the ultimate choice for a home defense firearm. They are cheap, easy to use, and most importantly, reliable. Below is a list of upgrades for both weapon systems. There are some clones, such as the H&R Pardner Protector that are compatible with most 870 parts with the exception of the barrel. Most magazine tube extensions allow your firearm to carry an additional 2 rounds of ammunition in your tube fed magazine.
Includes removal of original buttstock and installation of a new one.
Aside from magazine tube extensions, a shotgun side saddle is one of the first upgrades that most people want on their shotgun. Since loading a shotgun isn't as easy as dropping a mag and loading another, the more ammunition that you have readily available, the better. Side saddles come in configurations that hold between 4 and 8 additional shells.
This product replaces the gold bead sight that comes standard on most pump action shotguns. The sight features tritium which glows bright at night, but also a large white ring that is much easier to see in daylight as well.
The minimum legal length of a shotgun barrel is 18.5", however, with the advent of pistol braces you may now legally convert your shotgun to have a 14" barrel. This modification involves installing a pistol brace, pistol grip, and a 14" barrel.
