If you'd like to install an AR-15 buttstock on your AK pattern rifle, there are many choices available, some are better than others. If you want a battle rifle that you can stake your life on, you'll want to ensure that whichever brand you purchase will withstand harsh environments and abuse. To ensure a tight fit between your buttstock and buffer tube, know the difference between mil-spec and commercial buffer tubes.
Recommended Part: Vltor Modstock Adapter
The process by which a handguard is installed on an AK changes by manufacturer and by type of handguard. Some require the use of the handguard retainer, and others require it to be permanently cut off. Please contact us before you order a handguard so that we can help you make an informed decision.
Recommended Part: Magpul Zhukov
Similar to handguards, there are many different types of buttstocks for the AK platform and not all of them attach onto the receiver in the same manner. Some stocks require the permanent modification of the rear tang. If you are unsure which buttstocks are compatible with your rifle, please contact us prior to ordering one and we can provide you with some choices.
Recommended Part: Magpul Zhukov
Prices for Saiga's may vary since many parts must be modified to fit.
*Recommended part: Krebs Custom Safety
*Recommended Part: UltiMAK Gas Tube or Troy Gas Tube
If you do not want the weight of a side mounted optic rail, then a railed dust cover is the best possible solution. This part allows you to mount a red dot optic much closer to the receiver which means that you will no longer need to lift your head off of your buttstock to view the sight picture.
*Recommended Part: Texas Weapon Systems Dog Leg
*Recommended Part: Meprolight AK-47 Night Sights
This adapter bolts onto the rear of your AK Pistol receiver and allows a buffer tube to be installed. It requires two holes to be drilled into the rear tang of the receiver.
*Recommended Part: Stormwerkz Universal Carbine Adapter
The AK-47 is undoubtedly one of the most awesome rifles ever made, however, the primary area that is lacking is the trigger system. In a nutshell AK triggers are sloppy, meaning that it's difficult to feel and anticipate the reset. We recommend the triggers linked below. Please note, while these triggers will work in nearly all AK variants, some such as the Mini Draco or Saiga's require modification in order to work properly.
Recommended Part: ALG AKT-UL or ALG-AKT-EL
This conversion moves the trigger forward against the magazine release and allows for a standard AK pistol grip/buttstock configuration.
Recommended Part: Carolina Shooter Supply Conversion Kit
